This blog is a further and a deeper explanation of our previous blog, Chakra - Wheels of Vital Energy - https://www.vedicmind.co/post/chakras-wheels-of-vital-energy. We advise you to read the first blog and then to continue with our current one.
LUMINOUS AURA

What is an Aura? An Aura is a subtle energy field that is around our body. Aura in Greek means 'Breath of Air'. Just as the earth has a magnetic field, everything in nature consists of a subtle energy field. The energy field around the human body is known as an 'Auric field'.
In ancient Indian scriptures, these Auric fields are further understood as an overlapping interplay of the 5 Sheaths around a physical human form. These 5 sheaths known as 'Koshas' in Indian scriptures are layered one above the other as a form of subtle energies of the etheric body. These 5 sheaths or koshas are:-

1. Annamaya Kosha/Food Sheath
This is the physical self sheath and it is thus named because it is nourished by food.
2. Pranamaya Kosha/Vital Air Sheath
This sheath pervades the whole organism and its physical manifestation and is known as 'breath'. This force not only vitalizes but also holds together the body and mind. As long as this kosha exists, life continues. In simpler terms, it is known as Vayu or Air.
3. Manomaya Kosha/Mental Sheath
This sheath is composed of the mind or as we call it in India - 'Manas'. This sheath along with the mind is also consolidated with the five sensory organs. This is the sheath that gifts us our personality and is also the cause of diversity. e.g I and mine. Hence this sheath can be a human cause of bondage, and can also be the cause of liberation.
4. Vijnanamaya Kosha/Knowledge Sheath
This sheath is a combination of the intellect and the five sense organs. It is the faculty that discriminates, determines, or wills. It is composed of higher intelligence and associated with the organs of perception. This sheath is the cause of man's transmigration. It is also a reflection of the power of the 'Chit' or 'Chitta'. In Indian scriptures, Chitta is associated with 'Buddhi'. Hence this sheath corresponds to and is endowed with the function of 'higher knowledge'.
5. Anandamaya Kosha/Bliss Body
This sheath is composed of Ananda or bliss, and is also known as the 'Causal Body' which is composed of 'Supreme bliss'. This kosha is a reflection of the 'Atman' or the highest self or the highest soul also known as 'Bliss Absolute'.
The five Koshas or sheaths studied in the Vedas and Vedanta in Hinduism can be further understood as Aura. The five sheaths or the Auric fields that are present as layers around our body can be seen through the ability of Clairvoyance. Clairvoyance is a psychic ability through which one can see these Auric fields. The Auric fields are further explained as:

Etheric body
Emotional body
Mental body
Astral body.
Etheric Template.
Celestial body.
Causal body.
The Aura consists of myriad hues of colors since there is a vast interplay between the 5 koshas around a human body. Depending on the interplay, the Auric field emits specific signals. A clairvoyant or a healer can understand which vital sheath or kosha the signals emit from and where the discord lies. Since clairvoyance is a psychic ability to 'see' through the third eye, the Auric fields can only be seen by the third eye and never by the physical eyes. However, irrespective of whatever field of healing a person may come from, pranic, reiki, or shamanic, they have to gain the knowledge of the Auric field; this is paramount for every healer. As the Auric field is connected to the beauteous Kundalini, unless and until one works with his/her own self first, and walks his/her path of self-realization, simply learning the method of healing would make it a technique and the person a mere technician, but not a healer, because one cannot heal another unless one has healed him/herself first. The journey begins inward first and then only does it go outward. It is important to note though that even though a person may not see the Auric field, it does not mean that a person cannot feel and sense another person's energy.
Auras are subtle bodies of pure liquid light made of myriad crystalline hues which are around our physical frame. They are extended beyond our physical bodies and in some human beings like Yogis and Siddhas, they are extended far beyond the physical form. Following are some examples of how Auric colors can guide us.

If the Aura has the color Red and is seen positively around a human body it will denote courage, strength, energy, and creativity. But if the Aura with the color Red is seen negatively it will denote irritability, destructiveness, and uncontrolled fiery temper.
A positive Aura of the color Yellow will denote wisdom, spirituality, and peacefulness whereas a negative Aura of the color yellow will denote carelessness, fearfulness, and laziness.
A positive Aura with the color Green will show or denote love, creativity, and practicality and a negative Aura with the color green will show envy, selfishness, greed, and a materialistic viewpoint.
A gentle note: I do not know how many people may have witnessed this, but it has been my personal experience that our Auras can leave our bodies and move to higher realms after death as pure crystalline light of myriad hues.
The Pranamaya kosha includes this Auric field, and it is this Luminous Aura that gives life to our body as an immortal sheath around us, hence no corpse will ever possess this energy around it.
This understanding of Aura has not only been spoken about in India but over centuries and eras has been depicted in various religions and cultures. e.g. The Aura in Christian paintings and sculptures around Christ, Angels, Saints, religious leaders, as well as on the Gods of the far East and Buddha, is depicted artistically as 'Halos', and they are symbolic depictions of the Pranic emanation of these great spiritual beings. In China, this Aura is known as 'Chi'. A primal substance pervading the cosmos and all forms whether animate or inanimate. The Chi energy is studied deeply in China and its flow is considered very critical for health, the human body, home, or city. If there is any discord to the balanced harmonious flow of Chi then it needs to be rectified. Chinese studies of Qigong, Taichi, Kungfu, Fengshui, and Chinese medicine are all based on the vast knowledge of Chi or the Auric field.
The luminous Aura has been deeply studied throughout the ages by philosophers, researchers, and yogis since it is the main healing power. Such profound deep healings through Pranic transference have not only been practiced by Pranic healers in India, but also by Jesus Christ, Taoists, Jewish Kabahlists, Tibetian Buddhists, Vietnamese, Africans, Egyptians, Sufis, Islam, Inca, and Mayan cultures since it is an eminent 'life-giving force of Shakti'.
BEAUTEOUS KUNDALINI
Kundalini Energy is predominantly a Feminine force of SHAKTI. There cannot be another word to describe the Feminine force, except Beauty and Grace. Since ancient times in Hindusim, the Goddess has been identified with the Kundalini energy, which is known as the hidden power for spiritual awakening. From the Tantric perspective, all our biological activity is Feminine, regardless of our human form, and Breath - Prana - is seen as the expression of the Feminine. The pulse in our heart, the energy in our muscles, the fire in our body, the impulse behind our thoughts, and the entire chakra system are seen as the expression of the Divine Feminine SHAKTI.
Masculine energy from the tantric perspective is seen as an essential form of consciousness and awareness. When the Masculine wants vital power, it must draw it from the Feminine and whenever the Feminine wants to reflect, be conscious, bring awareness or contemplate, she must draw it from the Masculine. Though the Feminine energy is explained as passive, it does not mean it is passionless or inert. It would be appropriate to see passiveness as a powerful receptive holding power that holds the beauteous flame of Kundalini Shakti.
Kundalini Shakti is seen as a transformative energy. Since ancient times this Kundalini Shakti has been depicted through various transformative symbols. In Christianity she is depicted as the 'Sacred Heart', in Kabalah the 'Tree of Life' and in Hinduism 'Krishna with his flute'. Kundalini Shakti is seen as 'THE GODDESS' who holds the 'Power of Spirit'. When we slowly and gently awaken her within us, we can experience her transformative power as the spiritual energy in each of us. This energy is soul energy that awakens us to 'HER' true self and takes us on the path of self-realization. In my humbling experience, I can only state that whenever we come close to this Divine Source, trust me, we are touching the hard drive of Consciousness itself. It is not a power to play with or manipulate but rather a power where you can surrender and bow down to sublimation.
The Kundalini Shakti is like a 1000 petal Lotus and has many forms. We cannot mention all of them here, hence we have mentioned below a few of her special forms and how they can help us on our path of awakening.

Goddesses have been mentioned in our Vedas, Puranas, and ancient texts, and have been invoked and worshipped in India since ancient times. But Shakti is most specifically understood under the tradition that we call 'TANTRA'. Tantra is misunderstood and misconstrued by the ignorant fools and has been brought down to the level of their inertia by calling it Black Magic. But, in its true essence, Tantra is known as the study of the Occult, and the Occult means the 'DIVINE MYSTERIOUS' - a place where you fully recognize the primal, potent, raw energy of the 'DIVINE FEMININE'.
The word Tantra comes from two Sanskrit root words 'TAN' - means 'to expand or develop' and 'TRA' means 'an instrument to liberate or redeem'. Sanskrit truly is a beautiful language with many hidden layers of wisdom!
Tantra teaches and helps us to realize that our beautiful world is filled with the Divine energy 'Shakti'. Therefore Tantra and Shakti are nothing else but a path that emphasizes the significance of the Goddess, the Supreme Power, and the Beauteous Kundalini energy.

True power arises from this inner Feminine source, whether in the Cosmos or within a human being through Kundalini. She is the power that becomes the world. This Kundalini Shakti contains infinite powers, but the following five are the most important in Tantric metaphysics.
1. Chit Shakti - The power of being absolutely conscious and present.
2. Ananda Shakti - The power of feeling unconditional bliss or ecstasy.
3. Iccha Shakti - The power of Divine Will.

As one embarks on his or her journey of Kundalini awakening, one will experience the above-mentioned forms of the Divine Feminine energy in the way most suitable for any individual's own personal spiritual growth. The person may have new experiences, new perspectives on life, and expansion within his own consciousness. Thus growth which is happening inward as the awakening of the Feminine energy will also be seen manifested in the outside world.
This Beauteous Kundalini is awakened through our Chakras - The Wheels of Vital Energy, which is also connected to our Luminous Aura and the 5 Koshas or Sheaths mentioned above.
The three lower chakras - root, pelvic, and navel are connected with our material life and survival. The upper chakras - throat, third eye, and crown deal with spiritual life and higher creative expression. The key that unlocks this entire system is none other, and the most important chakra - the Heart chakra. The Heart Chakra is the gateway or the portal connecting 'As Above to Below and As Below to Above'.
